Live Wedding Painting at The Hermitage Hotel
I’m getting all the feels looking back over this dreamy winter wedding at one of my all-time favorite Nashville establishments. The Hermitage Hotel was built in 1910 by Paris-trained architect James Carpenter, one of NYC’s premier luxury high-rise designers. The HH is highly sought after and one the premier hotels in the country. Having the opportunity to create a signature piece of artwork that captured this magical night and this historic hotel’s breathtaking architecture was a painter’s dream come true. Let’s re-live it together!

The Ceremony was held in the veranda, a domed room with artfully painted ceilings to embody clouds.
Cocktail hour was held in the Grand Lobby, underneath the famous ornate-gold ceilings and adorned with a gigantic twinkling Christmas tree. This is where I began painting and capturing the sights and feels of the night. The couple and their guests mingled, cut the cake and toasted one another with champagne.
The reception was held in the Grand Ballroom for dinner and dancing, where I continued to paint. At this point, the painting was really starting to take shape and the guests were able to get a closer look. Guests stopped by to observe and ask questions throughout the reception.
The reveal was hands-down my favorite moment of this wedding. The bride was absolutely over the moon about her painting. There’s no better feeling in the world than sharing something you pour into and having a response like this one!
